OK. So, last week, Syesha Mercado sang Sam Cooke's "Change is Gonna Come" on what has been, arguably, the weakest season of American Idol. (See our previous American Idle posts here and here.) I'm pretty sure that Syesha compared the Civil Rights Movement to her journey on Idol. (Am I the crazy? That's what she said, right?) But let's stick to the music, shall we?Her vocals were flat. And the performance was uninspired. Period. I'd take this version from the NYU N'Harmonics any day. Because it's ballsy. And because it's in tune. But I'll let you be the judge.
